This is a wave I like to paint, so you'll see it in many different forms throughout these pages. One day I'll get it right! |
| A distance view of "The Devil's Tooth", from "Sally Bottom" beach. The word "bottom" is a tin mining term, having nothing whatever to do with whatever it is you sit on...Naturally enough, however, when I was a lad it was generally known as Sally's bottom...Highly juvenile, eh? |

The disappointing thing here is that I can't seem to get the colours right with my digital camera - there's always too much orange on the reproduction...believe me, the canvas does not look like this!!! |
| Does anyone out there know how to get the
colour balances right? Back in the good old days (like last year!) I used to walk the canvasses out into the sunlight and snap them with the trusty 35mm, get the film developed and printed, then scan the results. I didn't have colour balance problems then!...The answer seems obvious, do'n it! It's the "stepping backwards" bit that floors me... |
